Cycling: Search begins for 2025 Island Games squad

Expressions of interest to take part being invited

Have you got what it takes to represent the Isle of Man on two wheels at next year's Island Games?

Expressions of interest are being invited to be part of the Manx cycling team heading to the games in Orkney from 12-18 July, 2025.

Once again, the Isle of Man is hoping to field both male and female squads in both the road and mountain bike events.

Anyone interested in applying for a place is asked to contact r.sorby@rgs.sch.im.

At the last games in Guernsey last year the Isle of Man enjoyed multiple medal successes across the disciplines.

The biggest results came in the women's mountain bike criterium as Sascha Horsthuis and Kirree Quayle won team gold with Quayle also bagging individual bronze.

The duo also secured team silver in the cross-country with Quayle also managing a further individual bronze.

Elsewhere, the men's MTB lineup of Elliot Baxter, Owen Collins, Eric Kelly, Alex Rockwell and Ross Thorley won team bronze in both the cross-country and criterium contests.

When it came to road racing, the Isle of Man's best result came in the road circuit criterium as Will Draper, Michael Faid, Jamie Fletcher, Mark Horsthuis and Niall Quiggin secured team silver.
