Cycling: Manx riders named again for British National Road Championships

Event heading to Redcar and Cleveland from 21-25 June

A strong contingent of Manx riders will once again be involved in this year's British National Road Championships starting later this month.

The list of riders involved has been announced ahead of the event which will take place in Redcar and Cleveland from 21-25 June and will involve the road race, circuit race and time trial competitions.

The time trial events will begin the schedule on 21 June - Max Walker (Trinity Racing) and Zac Walker (Tudor Pro Cycling) will take part in the U23 Men's race with Lizzie Holden (UAE Team ADQ) and Island resident, Ben Swift (INEOS Grenadiers) taking part in the senior women's and men's time trials respectively.

Meanwhile, the circuit race competitions will follow with the Walker brothers also involved whilst 2022 National Circuit Race Champion, Manxman Matthew Bostock (Bolton Equities Black Spoke) takes the no.1 jersey with Tom Mazzone and Leon Mazzone also lining up for the Saint Piran squad.

There are no female competitors from the Isle of Man involved in the circuit races.

After that comes the headline road races which will feature ten Island competitors - eight men and two women.

Taking part in the men's road races will be Ben Swift, Tom Mazzone, Leon Mazzone, Max Walker, Zac Walker, Matthew Bostock, Sam Brand (Team Novo Nordisk) and Manx resident, Chris Lawless (Lotto Dstny Development).

Elsewhere, Holden will line up in the women's road race along with Jessie Carridge who'll be part of the Hutchinson-Brother UK team.
