Cycling: Manx riders impress at North West Youth Tour

Large Team RL360 squad takes on meeting in Lancaster

Isle of Man cycling competitors put in a string of positive performances during last weekend's North West Junior Tour held in and around Lancaster last weekend.

Team RL360 Isle of Man fielded numerous riders across the respective boys and girls classes for the meeting which ran from 24-26 August.

Among the highlights, Beatrice Brook won the Under-8 girls class whilst Daniel Minay claimed second overall in the Under-14 Boys event.

There was podium finish for the team in the Under-12 Girls as Isabella Quaye finished third with teammate Poppy Clayton not far behind in fifth.

Elsewhere, George Looney and Felix Thompson-Broadbent finished fourth and sixth respectively in the Under-8 Boys competition and there were respective fifth and sixth-place spots for Ciaran Grimshaw and Tommy Bass in the Under-12 Boys standings.

British Cycling describes the three-day meeting as 'the ultimate in youth stage races for the UK' - The three stages for the Under-14 and Under-16 age groups form part of the British Cycling Youth Circuit Series whilst the Under-8, Under-10 and Under-12 events act as support races.
