Cycling: Holden to represent Great Britain at 2024 world championships

Manx rider one of four selected for elite women's team in Zurich

Isle of Man cyclist Lizzie Holden is set to represent Great Britain at the UCI Road World Championships later this week.

The 27-year-old has been selected for the four-strong GB elite women's squad for the event which this year is being held in Zurich, Switzerland from Saturday (21 September) until next Sunday (29 September).

Joining the 2023 British elite women's national time trial champion in the female team will be 2024 Olympic time trial silver medallist Anna Henderson; double Olympic track medallist Elinor Barker as well as Claire Steels.

Holden will take on the elite women's road race at the championships which is due to take place on Saturday, 28 September.

Most recently, the Island-born competitor took part in the Tour de Romandie Feminin in Switzerland with UAE Team ADQ, finishing 22nd in the points standings and 61st in the general classification.
