Knights hits 69 as Island side beat Romania by eight wickets
The Isle of Man men's national cricket team have today (15 July) secured their third win from three at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup qualifiers.
The Manx side beat Romania by eight wickets in their latest Group 2 Sub Regional Europe A qualifier at the Kerava National Cricket Ground in Finland.
It follows wins for the Isle of Man earlier this week against Cyprus (12 July) and Serbia (13 July).
Romania were first to bat and found themselves all out after 19.2 overs on 120, with the top batting performances coming from Vasu Saini and captain, Ramesh Satheesan, who both managed 31 and 29 runs respectively.
The Isle of Man made a strong start in their batting come the next innings with the first pairing of Adam McAuley and Nathan Knights managing 96 runs between them, including a combined eight 'fours' and four 'sixes'.
McAuley managed 27 of those runs before being caught by Cosmin Zavoiu with Knights racking up 69 runs before being caught out, also by Zavoiu.
After that, seven runs from George Burrows and twelve from Carl Hartmann, both not-out, alongside six extra runs awarded meant The Isle of Man took the win with a final total of 121-2 off 12.1 overs.
