One second advantage
Onchan driver Scott Bradshaw leads the Haydn Minay Memorial Stages Rally, the opening round of the Motor Mall Manx Rally Championship after last nights first four stages, but it is only by the slenderest of margins. The Mitsubishi Evo 3 driver with Howard Allison were fastest on the opening stages at South Barrule and Stoney Mountain plantations, however thick mist saw them drop time with light issues on SS3, handing a 4 second lead to former Manx champion Nigel Cannell and Nick Kaighin (Mitsubishi Evo 9).Bradshaw however hit back on the final test back at Stoney Mountain and takes a single one second lead into today's action.Northern Irish driver Shane McGirr sits third in his Toyota Starlet, leading two-wheel drive despite having never seen the stages before, with another former Manx champion George Collister fourth in his BMW, just three seconds further back.Just 8 seconds separate 5th to 9th places with Matt Bettridge (Vauxhall Nova), Matty Carter (Ford Escort), Dan Colley (BMW), Grant Leece (Vauxhall Astra) and David Hughes (BMW) battling it out.The action resumes just before 9am from the TT Grandstand, with today's ten stages alternating between Conrhenny plantation and Glion Gill off the Bhenn-y-Pott Road.
