The Isle of Man will host the British Isles Short Mat Bowls Championships this weekend.
The tournament will be staged at the National Sports Centre, with play taking place on Saturday and Sunday.
The Manx team will face stiff competition from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
One of the organisers, Colin Holland, explains the nature of the short mat version of the sport:
