Badminton: Trials to be held for Island Games and Senior squads

Performance committee looking to build teams ahead of new season

The process will begin next month to decide who will represent the Isle of Man national badminton sides for the forthcoming new season.

Isle of Man Badminton Association has announced it will be holding trials on 14 August, 21 August and 28 August to decide the Island Games and Senior teams going forward.

Selection sessions for senior and top-end junior athletes looking to be in contention for the Island Games squad for Orkney in 2025 are asked to attend The Rounhouse in Braddan between 7pm and 10pm on the above dates.

The IoM Badminton Performance Committee adds anyone interested in joining of the Isle of Man Senior squads is asked to contact performance@iombadminton.com - sessions will be on the same dates as above between 8pm and 10pm at the same location.

Meanwhile, the organisation has now also confirmed dates for trials for the Isle of Man junior sides for the latest season.

This year will see teams have new names of 'Elite', 'Development' and 'Foundation' and will be made up of a maximum of 18 players each.

The trials will be held on Fridays next month on 9 August, 16 August, 23 August and 30 August at either 6-7pm or 7-8pm as well as on Wednesdays next month between 6-7pm on 14 August, 21 August and 28 August.

Those wanting to join the junior sessions are also asked to contact performance@iombadminton.com for further information and to book a slot.
