Manx competitor takes gold and bronze in Hatfield
Isle of Man badminton player Kim Clague enjoyed double medal success during UK competition last weekend.
The Island-based competitor claimed gold in the women's doubles 35+ class with teammate Kelly Fairey at the 29th English National Masters Championship in Hatfield held from last Friday to last Sunday (29 November - 1 December).
At the same event, Clague combined with Nikita Kolomnin in the Mixed Doubles 35+ category in which the duo came away with bronze.
Isle of Man Badminton Association is congratulating Clague who has represented the Island on multiple occasions in the sport including at last year's Island Games in Guernsey where she claimed gold in the women's doubles with Jessica Li.
Registered under Nottinghamshire for last weekend's tournament, Clague and Fairey had a flawless run in the women's doubles winning all three Group B games before a striaght-sets victory in the final over Helen Calverley and Lucy Kidd.
In the mixed doubles event, Clague and Kolomnin also won all three Group C matches before falling to a straight sets defeat to Nick Hodgson and Sarah Burgess in the semi-finals.
