Hockey results for Saturday, 23 November
Bacchas A lifted the Rossborough Mixed Premier League title after a 6-4 victory against old foes Vikings A on the final day of their respective league seasons.
The Cronkbourne side had a two-point lead in the standings heading into Saturday's showdown, and knew only a heavy defeat would prevent them going on to be crowned champions.
After going in at the break level at 1-1, Bacchas put in a strong second half performance to ensure they won the trophy their opponents had lifted 12 months earlier.
Elliot Reid scored twice for Bacchas, with Jonny Callow, Andy Whiting, Jamie Brown and a first ever Bacchas A goal for Lauren Brew capping off a 6-4 win.
Eddie Caley (2), Tim Henderson and Zoe Crowe were on target for Vikings.
There was despair for Castletown Celts, whose relegation was confirmed after a 6-3 defeat to Ramsey A.
Thomas Tsitsos and Billy Cain both scored hat-tricks as the southerners fate was sealed with a game still to play.
Elsewhere, Valkyrs A prevailed in a close battle with Vikings B.
Luis Novo-Smith, Greg Miller and Ciaran Gell helped them to a 3-2 victory, with Daisy Loader and Macklin Wilson on the scoresheet for Vikings.
