Astin smashes course record in Women's Half Marathon

Hardman crowned champion of men's full marathon

It was a recording breaking year for the Altenar Ramsey Marathon and Half Marathon this weekend.

More than 400 runners took part in the races with 76 completing the marathon and 341 completing the half.

Phil Hardman was crowned winner of the men's full marathon in a time of 2hrs 49mins 54secs and Evelyn Twomey topped the women in 3hrs 15mins 26secs.

In the Half-Marathon, Corrin Leeming won the men's in a time of 1hr 10 mins and Gemma Astin, who wasn't far behind, won the women's in 1hr 16mins 38secs, setting a new course record in the process by 2 minutes 43 seconds.
