More expected to be built next year
Work has started on the construction of three beach huts on Queens Promenade, Douglas with another three are scheduled to be added in 2024.
The plans were granted approval in February following an application by Onchan resident, Lisa Leo, and were supported by Douglas Borough Council.
The huts will have a tongue and groove wood exterior painted in a pallette of bright colours. The sea-facing front elevations will incorporate a door, glazed window and decking with a removable ramp.
Chairman of Douglas Borough Council's Regeneration and Community Committee, Councillor Andrew Bentley, says it's hoped the beach huts will prove popular:
Flu jab availability varying 'from pharmacy to pharmacy'
Police issue assurance amid concerns from Island's Jewish community
MHK calls for government to use more Manx food and drink
Bus strikes, minimum wage and meat board appointment among topics for House of Keys
