Work to tackle storm damage continues ahead of incoming Eowyn

Private contractors due to be brought into glens and plantations in February

Work to tackle damage caused in the Isle of Man’s glens and plantations will continue, with the help of private contractors, next month.

Storm Darragh in December caused widespread issues with fallen trees; several were left unsafe and in need of felling.

You can find out more HERE.

The Island will also be placed under an amber weather warning tomorrow (24 January) as Storm Eowyn hits.

Forester Andrew Kneale works for the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture and says South Barrule was one of the areas badly hit:

DEFA is urging people to avoid the glens and plantations during stormy conditions.

Anyone who spots something dangerous is asked to email forestry@gov.im.
