Energy transition advisor believes there are more concerning threats elsewhere
An energy transition advisor has told Manx Radio he believes windfarms pose a ‘minor threat’ to wildlife.
David Quirk, from the Island's Energy Sustainability Centre, says statistics show one bird is killed per turbine per year.
Concerns have previously been raised about the impact on wildlife – including birds and bats – if the structures were to be installed on the Isle of Man.
But Mr Quirk says there are more concerning threats elsewhere:
