Deep low currently near Nova Scotia will track across the Atlantic this weekend
A yellow weather warning has been issued by Ronaldsway Met Office for Sunday (23 February).
Forecasters are warning us to expect severe gales in the morning, with Southerly gusts of 60-70 mph expected to hit the Island between 4am and 3pm.
It's due to a deep low-pressure system currently near Nova Scotia, which will track across the Atlantic over the course of the weekend.
This is likely to result in fallen branches/trees, minor structural damage and some disruption to travel.
SAILINGS
The Steam Packet Company is already warning of potential disruption to a number of its sailings from the 8am sailing on Sunday through to the 1:45am sailing in the early hours of Monday (24 February) morning.
For the first return crossing between Douglas and Heysham, a final decision will be made by the Master by 6am on Sunday.
For the evening sailings between the Island and the Lancashire port, a final decision will be made by the Master by 5:30pm on Sunday.

Meanwhile, for those set to fly on Sunday, Loganair is offering passengers the opportunity to adjust their travel plans without charge.
