Voting to find 'Europe's most desirable Island' closes this month

Voting closes in mid-October and is up against some tough competition

Voting closes later this month in a bid to find the most desirable Island in Europe.

The Isle of Man one of the shortlisted destinations in the Wanderlust Magazine Travel Awards but faces stiff competition from some of Europe's celebrated holiday hotspots.

Now in its 23rd year the Wanderlust awards celebrate the best in travel and shine a spotlight on the most desirable destinations, tour operators and travel brands.

Voting ends on the 18 October and the winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Tate Modern in London before the end of the year.

It's the first time the Island has found itself nominated for such an award, but it finds itself up against some stiff opposition with the likes of Majorca, Minorca, Crete, Corsica, Malta and Madeira all in the mix to be crowned 'Most Desirable Island in Europe'.

When the shortlisted Islands were unveiled earlier this year Melanie Allen, Director of Marketing and Communications for Visit Isle of Man said it was testament to the hard work and dedication of all those involved in the Island's visitor community, and the warm hospitality of local people.
