Vape retailers get ready for display ban

Trading Standards visiting stores to ensure they're ready for law change

Vape retailers on the Island are preparing for a ban on displaying e-cigarettes and vaping products, which is due to come into force next month.

Trading Standards has been visiting stores to ensure they're ready for the change in legislation on 1 September.

The Office of Fair Trading says Trading Standards officers have visited every retailer over the last three months to discuss the new laws.

Advice has been given on the types of cabinets, gantry systems and cupboards that can be used, as well as how to avoid unnecessary expenses.

Each retailer has been made aware that they should be fully compliant by 1 September - none have indicated they will be unable to meet this deadline.

Further compliance checks will be carried out next month to ensure shops are meeting the new requirements.
