Politicians and senior civil servants in the Isle of Man will arrange to meet key officials in the United States Treasury as soon as possible after the new administration is in place, early next year.
President-elect Barack Obama is due to be sworn in on January 20 and in Tynwald today Treasury Minister Allan Bell said the Island should know who it will be dealing with by early February.
In reply to questions from David Callister, MLC, he said another trip to Washington would be arranged as soon as possible, and US officials would be invited to see for themselves how the Isle of Man operated as a financial centre.
