Unite calls for 'meaningful discussions' following revised public sector pay offer

Ballots are being sent to members but the union thinks it's unlikely members will accept

Trade union Unite is calling on the Public Services Commission to have 'meaningful discussions', following a revised pay offer to public and civil servants.

Negotiations were carried out last month which prompted a new deal which would see employees receive a 3.25 percent uplift to their salaries, up from two percent.

Unite is pushing for a pounds and pence offer or a percentage increase on a sliding scale, meaning highest earners would see less of an increase.

Regional Officer Debbie Halsall says they remain open to having further talks:

Manx Radio has repeatedly sought comment from the Public Services Commission and requested interviews with its Chair, but we're yet to receive a response.
