April figure shows 0.1% drop
Unemployment on the Island went down last month.
There were 314 registered at the end of April, 35 fewer than at the end of March and 93 down on the same time last year.
The unemployment rate for April stood at 0.7%, a drop of 0.1% from March, with 106 people signing on to the unemployment register and 141 leaving.
Of those out of work, 227 were men and 87 women, with the business services sector having the highest rate of unemployed workers and the catering and entertainment sector having the largest number of job vacancies, with 148 listed at the end of the month.
The unemployment figure as measured by the International Labour Organisation, which takes into account those seeking work but who are not registered as unemployed stood at 759, down from 794 in March and giving an unemployment rate of 1.8%.
