Tribunal finds Dr Jules Gomez had 'over-inflated' view of himself
An Island priest has been warned he could be banned for life from the Anglican Church, after being severely criticised by a disciplinary tribunal.
An official hearing into allegations against Dr Gomes, the former vicar of Arbory and Castletown, reached damning conclusions about his conduct towards others while in office.
The tribunal's final report said his 'inappropriate behaviour' and 'over-inflated' view of himself, had damaged the reputation of the church.
Despite Dr Gomes' resignation earlier this year, he is still liable to Church of England rules and sanctions and remains in Holy Orders.
Bishop Robert Paterson says his punishment - yet to be decided - could wreck his career.
