UK General Election: Should the Isle of Man care?

We take a look at our intergovernmental relationship

People across the United Kingdom will head to the polls tomorrow (4 July) to decide who will take on the top job at Number 10.

That includes a cohort of people living in the Isle of Man, who this year became eligible to vote.

Until January 2024 people who left the UK more than 15 years ago lost their right to vote.

However, the rule was abolished under the Election Act 2022, meaning British citizens were able to register in the last constituency they were signed up in before leaving the UK.

With just hours to go, the leaders of the main political parties will be hoping to bolster undecided voters to back their horse in the race.

But regardless of the outcome - what does the general election mean for the Isle of Man?
