Manx Care Mandate hits parliament floor for debate
Today (18 March) the new Mandate to Manx Care, and the Manx Care Operating Plan for 2025/26 will be laid before members in Tynwald.
They've been a big talking point all month - and now our Island's politicians will get the chance to have their say on the documents.
A general debate will be proposed by the health minister and seconded by the chief minister, but - as usual - the plans themselves will not be subject to a vote.
QUESTIONS
After the recent cancer screening row, the Health Minister Claire Christian faces a number of back bench questions, including two urgent ones.
Former Health Minister Lawrie Hooper wants a statement about Manx Care pay awards and potential nurses strike action.
Whilst Jason Moorhouse asks about the future of the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
Other questions range from radiological diagnostic reporting, doctors pay, new Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service Clinicians, and aspects of the Manx Care Operating Plan.
The cost of breast cervical and bowel cancer screening and residential care in the north of the Island also feature.
But it's not just health.
Another urgent question is about UCM leaving the Nunnery.
Chris Thomas and Jason Moorhouse want information about vehicle speeds, government staff numbers and the disposal of microwaves.
This month's Tynwald sitting will start at 10am and you'll be able to listen on AM 1368 or by clicking the 'Listen Live' button towards the top of the web page.
