Volunteers carrying out the restoration of the pier are said to be continuing to make good progress despite costs 'rocketing'.
A single bay now costs considerably more than it did pre-Covid, with estimates suggesting around £80,000 is required per bay.
The Department of Infrastructure owns the pier but leases it to the Queen's Pier Restoration Trust charity for a small annual fee, but does not provide any subsidy towards the project.
The task of repairing the structure is becoming harder as work moves further along the pier, requiring heavy lifting work to be done from the beach when tides and conditions permit.
