Police confirm sentences of six and four weeks
Police say two men arrested and detained for offences relating to Covid-19 have now been sentenced to time in prison.
One person was absent from a residence and also failed to follow medical instructions, officers say - he's been sentenced to six weeks in jail.
Another male had already been warned but was found drinking and socialising on a beach - he's been given four weeks.
Two other people are reportedly in the cells for Covid-19 offences, waiting to be dealt with, and officers say they have arrested several people over the past week.
The penalties for breaking these laws can be up to £10,000, or three months in prison.
Update on these two males. Both have been to Court and have been sentenced to time in IOM Prison. First matter for 6 weeks and second one for 4 weeks. https://t.co/Vh81FJC6ie
