Two local authority elections today

Polling stations open from 8am until 8pm

There are elections in two local authorities today (Thurs 3rd).

In Ramsey North Ward, two candidates are standing for the vacant seat on the commissioners.

In Douglas, two candidates will battle it out to be Victoria Ward councillor.

In Ramsey the candidates are Nigel Peter Howard, a youth worker of Briarville Gardens and Outdoor Walk and Talk Instructor and Ffinlo Bardolph Runciman Williams of Court Row.

The polling station for the Election is at the Town Hall in Parliament Square.

Meanwhile, in Victoria Ward, Douglas, former Douglas East MHK, Jon Joughin and businessman Robert Moore are standing for the seat vacated by David Ashford following his election to the House of Keys.

Nathalie Byron stood uncontested for the vacancy in St Georges Ward.

Polling stations are at St Andrews Church Hall, the Villa Marina Promenade Suite and St Matthews Church Hall on North Quay.

Polling stations for both elections will open at 8am and remain open until 8pm.
