TT racer's family fundraising for charities 'close to his heart'

Mark Purslow was killed on 1 June

The family of a TT rider who died during a practice session at this year's TT has thanked people for the 'overwhelming support'.

Twenty-nine year old Mark Purslow was killed, on 1 June, following an incident at Ballagarey.

The Welshman’s family say – just over a week later - they still 'can't believe it' and have now started preparations for his funeral which will take place in Aberystwyth.

They have also started a fundraising campaign to support charities which were 'close to Mark's heart' including the Joey Dunlop Foundation, The Mike Hailwood Centre and the Air Ambulance.

In a statement the family said: "We would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has visited, messaged, or got in touch in any way from the bottom of our hearts!

"The support has been overwhelming and we are so grateful to you all.

"Your love continues to comfort us at this heartbreaking time."
