Triple-lock up for discussion in House of Keys

Topic is subject of starred question and motion today

Former Cabinet Minister Kate Lord-Brennan will ask her first Keys backbench question today (Tuesday February 11).

It concerns a report into the harmonisation of wage rates.

Three priority starred questions have also been tabled, the first on the pensions triple-lock, from Onchan MHK Julie Edge.

Overall, Jason Moorhouse asks seven questions.

They range from average accident and emergency waiting times to traffic issues.

Other questions involve the appointment of an empty properties officer, opening basic banking accounts, the living wage and a possible analysis of the composition of household waste.

Furthermore, other business includes clauses stage for the Local Government Amendment Bill and for Statute Law Revision.

There is also a motion from Julie Edge that a proposal in the report Future Uprating of the Manx State Pension shouldn’t be implemented as part of the Budget and that future uprating be tabled with a separate motion.

You can read more about that HERE.
