Treasury turns to public for ideas

Millions of pounds need to be saved

Government is stressing no suggestion is off limits in its latest consultation on saving public money.

The SAVE scheme is inviting residents to share and comment upon new and novel ways to cut costs - with a view to making efficiencies of £25 million per year.

An initial 'ideas hub' has been launched online and will remain open until 14 May - after which politicians will assess all of the suggestions.

MHK and SAVE board member Lawrie Hooper explains what will happen then: (play audio)

You can get involved in the discussion yourself via gov.im/save.
