Three in court accused of rape

Committal to General Gaol due to take place in August

Three people have appeared at Douglas Courthouse accused of rape.

A 40-year-old man and 46-year-old woman from Douglas were joined in the dock by a 36-year-old man from Laxey.

None of the defendants can be identified for legal reasons.

They’ve all been accused of committing the offence together on 27 March.

Committal proceedings, where the case is elevated to the Court of General Gaol Delivery, will take place on 27 August.

Update: At Douglas Courthouse on 27 August the two men were committed to stand trial at the Court of General Gaol Delivery. They will next appear before that court on a date to be set. The woman, who did not appear in court, is due to be committed on 3 September.
