The Christmas market is coming!

Final arrangements are being made for the Island's first continental outdoor Christmas market, which opens for business in just over three weeks time.

Organiser Olivier Simonin has been in the Island to map-out how 35 European traders and 10 local firms will squeeze into town centre streets.

Sellers from Spain, France, Belgium, Italy, Poland and Finland have booked stalls at the fair, which opens on the day Douglas switches on its festive lights - November 22.

Mr Simonin from Traditional Markets says traders are spending around £1,000 each on travel and accommodation, many on a return trip after visiting in July for the market on Douglas prom.

With many stalls selling drinks and food, he's hoping to create an area for people to sit and enjoy the atmosphere:

The fair runs from November 22-29. Full details on the Douglas Town Centre Management Facebook page.
