Celtic League highlights submarine issues
The Celtic League says it hopes to find out what safety procedures are in place to protect boats in the Irish Sea from Royal Navy submarines.
This week, the Marine Accident Investigation Branch published an interim report into an incident involving a trawler and a sub off the Calf of Mann last year.
Bernard Moffatt from the League says incidents of submerged vessels catching fishing nets had declined since the end of the Cold War.
But he’s now written to the UK’s Armed Forces Minister asking whether it still has protocols in place to reduce risks:
Bus drivers to hold off taking industrial action while talks continue
Petrol station to trial bodycams
Regulation of Health and Social Care Bill pushed back to 2027
Manx patients will be contacted if appointments are impacted by UK strikes
