Day-placements at Government House on offer as part of new programme
Students on the Isle of Man are being offered the opportunity to shadow the Lieutenant Governor for a day.
It’s part of a new six-month programme, developed in partnership with University College Isle of Man, and is open to people aged between 19 and 25.
Those taking part will learn about the purpose of the role and the responsibilities it carries as well as the work of Government House.
The Lieutenant Governor is the King’s representative, and impartial advisor, on the Island.
Sir John Lorimer said: “I am delighted to be able to offer an opportunity for young people to spend some time with me, seeing some of the work that I do, both public facing as well as behind the scenes.
“The role of Lieutenant Governor is probably more diverse than perhaps one would expect and I hope that those who volunteer for the shadowing programme will find it interesting and worthwhile.”
