Postal workers in the Isle of Man will stage a 24-hour strike a week today (Tuesday).
The Post Office says it's been notified of the decision by the Communication Workers Union, which represents around 250 of its employees.
Post Office chairman Alan Crowe MLC says he and his colleagues are disappointed the union has confirmed strike action.
Further talks were due to be held tomorrow and Mr Crowe says the Industrial Relations Officer had made it clear the CWU had until April 21 to take action.
Details of the Post Office's contingency plans are being released today.
Eighty-five per cent of CWU members employed by the Post Office supported strike action in a pay dispute.
Management has said all along its hands are tied by the pay freeze in the public sector.
