Government close to £124.3m deal
The Isle of Man Government proposal to purchase the Steam Packet Company will open up the possibility of a new and modern fleet.
That's the view of Treasury Minister Alf Cannan who has tabled a motion for Tynwald to consider next week seeking approval for a maximum of £124.3 million for the deal.
The Chief Minister Howard Quayle says this is a "once in-a-generation" opportunity to secure sea services to and from the Island.
