Pupils and staff instructed to self-isolate
A pupil at a Douglas primary school has tested positive for coronavirus after attending classes earlier this week.
The child is one of two new cases of Covid-19 identified on the Isle of Man.
They attended St Mary's Primary School on Tuesday and Wednesday, and showed no symptoms of the virus, which was then identified in pre-admission screening ahead of a medical procedure.
The youngster's family members have tested negative and the school's headteacher has been informed.
All those who attend or work at St Mary's are being instructed to self-isolate, along with those in their household.
The Island's Director of Public Health insists the risk to children remains low.
The Chief Minister will give more details at a media briefing at 1pm.
