New airport opening up travel options
A party from the Public Accounts committee of St Helena has been on the island -watching our Parliament in operation.
Yesterday, they were guests in the House of Keys at question time and then saw Legislative Council members debating.
St. Helena is one of the most isolated Islands in the world, far out in the South Atlantic.
It recently opened an airport for the first time which is set to revolutionise travel on and off the Island.
The size of aircraft is limited because of continuing difficulties over what's termed "wind sheer" or strong gusts over the airfield.
But Committee member Mark Young says flying, as opposed to going by boat, makes a very big difference.
