Minister keen to maximise efficiency
The Home Affairs Minister says he's 'eager' to delegate more of his Department's operations to private contractors.
Bill Malarkey was speaking to a Tynwald committee yesterday (Wed 11 Oct).
A consultation on contracting out certain police functions, such as custody cells, concluded last month, drawing 19 public responses.
Although he ruled out hiring a private firm such as G4S to run the Isle of Man Prison, he said tendering exercises at the Constabulary would 'free up officer's time'.
