'Severely disabled' dog to meet The Supervet thanks to support from Manx public

Hopes that Thai street dog 'Vin' can have life expectancy improved

A 'severely disabled' dog from the Isle of Man will meet The Supervet in the new year in the hope his life expectancy can be improved.

Vin was adopted by Andi and Pete Nolan from the charity Soi Dog in Thailand which aims to end the suffering of animals in Asia.

The four-year-old, who now lives in Ramsey, had been abused, suffered 17 fractures and had to have his right forelimb amputated.

Vets on the Island had told The Nolan’s to focus on making memories with Vin due to his ongoing health issues.

However his family say they ‘owe it to him to explore every possibility’ and in January he’ll be going to see Noel Fitzpatrick in Surrey.

The meeting – which will assess whether he is suitable for elbow fusion surgery - has been funded by the Manx community which has so far raised more than £3,000.

“We were reluctant to start this campaign but the outpouring of love and support for Vin has been so overwhelming and we know many of you care deeply for him.” – The Nolans

The couple told Manx Radio they’re extremely grateful for the reaction to their appeal for help:
