Security gates at jetty cost taxpayers £3K

Needed for future cruise ship passengers says DoI

New security gates at a jetty in Port Erin have cost taxpayers £3,000.

They’ve been installed so that cruise ship passengers can be tendered to the walkway if vessels want to stop at the southern port.

The gates will be closed if and when people want to disembark or return to the ship.

Rushen MHK Michelle Haywood questioned the Infrastructure Minister this week about whether they were actually necessary.
