School day changes 'won't necessarily mean learning is lost'

Secondary schools making changes to accommodate PSHE and RSE lessons

Changes to the school day recently announced by a number of Island schools don't necessarily mean learning is lost, according to the education minister.

St Ninian's High School has announced its school day will start slightly later and finish 25 minutes earlier from September, while Ballakermeen High School and Ramsey Grammar School have been consulting parents over proposed changes.

They say it's to allow it to accommodate new PSHE and RSE lessons.

Daphne Caine says some schools have made the decision to alter their school day schedule, but it will not mean lessons are lost.
