Future of art space in doubt
Manx Radio understands the Sayle Gallery is going into administration.
Originally intended as a national contemporary art space, the Douglas gallery now looks set to go under, after a sustained period of financial difficulties.
The charity made its home in the Villa Marina's colonnade in 2008, formerly the Courtyard gallery in Tynwald Mills, having first built a reputation as a travelling exhibition.
It changed its name when it moved to Douglas, in honour of Norman Sayle, who was the gallery's patron.
Despite support from the Isle of Man Arts Council, the news now casts doubt over the future of the space.
The directors have been contacted for comment.
