HBN Healthcare Trust buys animatronic cats and dogs for Manx charity
Specialist robot cats and dogs are being used on the Isle of Man to help patients with dementia.
The cat meows, purrs and moves when it's stroked while the dog, modelled on a golden retriever puppy, will respond to touch by wagging its tail and barking.
The animatronic animals help reduce stress and can also trigger memories and encourage conversation.
The Henry Bloom Noble Healthcare Trust has purchased 20 of them for the Manx charity, Forget Me Not.
They're currently being used in sessions by the Admiral Nurse Service - funded by the Forget Me Not charity and supported by both Hospice Isle of Man and Dementia UK.
