Gili Cowley received the honour in front of family, friends and crew members
Gilli Cowley received the honour in front of family, friends and crew members at Government House yesterday (8 April) for her dedication to 'lifelong volunteerism' and her support for the charity.
The organisation says the recognition is a testament to Gilli’s selfless contributions, and it couldn’t be more grateful for all she has done for Douglas RNLI.
It said: "For many years, Gilli has been the heartbeat of our fundraising efforts, raising over £1 million and bringing the community together through countless events.
"Her creativity, leadership, and attention to detail have made events like the annual fine-dining Fish Supper, and the beloved ‘Christmas Cracker’ a huge success, all while raising awareness for the lifeboat service we are so proud to support.
"Her passion and dedication have made a lasting impact on us all, and today’s award is just a small reflection of the extraordinary work she has put into our charity and community over the years."
