Manx Care seeking to 'better control off-Island tertiary activities'
Manx Care has confirmed it’s conducting a ‘comprehensive review’ to better control off-Island tertiary activities.
As a result some patients may see their care repatriated back to the Island if clinically appropriate.
The review focusses on contractual arrangements with UK providers, patient lists and the establishment of a central off-Island referral transfer team to manage referrals and repatriations.
The healthcare body says it's hoping to 'ensure sustainability'.
Earlier this year it was confirmed Manx Care had stopped non-urgent elective procedures and appointments at UK hospitals in a bid to save money.
