Mary Ramsey was six days old when she was found in Ballure Glen in 1946
A woman whose mother was abandoned in Ballure Glen as a baby nearly 80 years ago believes she may have traced the family names of her maternal grandparents.
Mary Ramsey was just six days old when she was found, on 14 April 1946, naked and wrapped in brown paper in Ballure Glen.
She was then adopted by parents in the UK and was called Stephanie Taylor (née French).
She lived in the south of England until her death in 2012.
Matthew Richardson is Curator of Art and Social History at Manx National Heritage and has been painting a picture of what things would have been like on the Isle of Man in 1946:
Stephanie only found out the truth about her early days when she was in her 50s and her daughter Lorraine Berry has never stopped trying to find out her family's history.
After studying her DNA, and tracing her family tree, Lorraine is now hoping to now get in touch with any potential relatives:
If you know of any Corletts living in Ramsey at that time or Palmers living in the Liverpool area who may be a relation, and would be interested in speaking to Lorraine, you can email newsroom@manxradio.com and we'll put you in touch.
Manx Radio will be broadcasting a special episode of Island Life about Mary Ramsey's story at 5.30pm on Tuesday 14 January - you can listen from 5.30pm or it will be available as a podcast shortly after.
