RCN sees industrial action as 'last resort'

Nurses to be balloted about strike action next week

Nurses employed by Manx Care are being urged to help shape the future of their pay.

The Royal College of Nursing will start balloting its members about potential industrial action next week.

It’s after a four percent pay offer was rejected in November.

The RCN says it was concerned that the pay offer did not include back-pay for those who had already left Manx Care in the months since the offer should have been implemented.

David Hopton is the Senior Regional Officer:

Manx Care added"Manx Care made a revised pay offer to colleagues employed on Manx Pay Terms and Conditions contracts in November 2024 which comprised four percent for 2024/25.

"Manx Care is aware of the Royal College of Nursing position with regard to this offer and remains committed to working to RCN to resolve the pay dispute."

The ballot will take place between 12pm on 26 February and 12pm on 12 March.
