Needed to balance the books, say commissioners
Port St Mary rates are going up by three per cent.
Commissioners have agreed they’ll rise to 315 pence in the pound from 1 April.
It’s the first increase in the village for several years.
Vice Chairman Rich Ashcroft said a hike was needed to ‘balance the books’, given staffing costs, and waste disposal charges continuing to rise with inflation.
