Ramsey Commissioners to make NCAS meeting minutes public

Follows problems at amenity site since Bride stopped paying

Ramsey Commissioners have agreed to make the minutes of the Northern Civic Amenity Site Joint Committee board public.

The decision was agreed to unanimously at the latest meeting of the local authority and follows a number of issues the civic amenity site has faced, since April this year, when Bride refused to pay into the site.

Until now the commissioners have had the minutes relating to the site kept in the private section of the meetings.

Commissioner Juan McGuinness questioned the decision for this and proposed that they be made public including retrospectively.

Chair Rob Cowell said he didn’t know why they were private but suggested it was because this was the way it had always been done.

Mr McGuinness asked whether the minutes had been written with the public in mind and also queried if the amenity site board should be asked before minutes were released.
