More fundraising plans for mammoth task
No wood is being put to waste from Queens Pier in Ramsey.
Volunteers are trying to find new ways of securing funds to restore the landmark, with up to £2 million required for materials over the next five years.
A scheme to raise money by allowing residents to 'sponsor' individual planks of wood has now all but sold out.
Reclaimed wood from the 130-year-old structure has also been remodelled into collectibles for sale.
The next fundraising event for Queens Pier will feature musical entertainment from the Summer Singers.
It's being held Friday, 13 July, at Waterloo Road Methodist Centre from 7.30pm.
Stuart Mackenzie is from the Queens Pier Restoration Trust.
